Welcome to our February newsletter. This year has been a busy one so far, we’ve welcomed 5 new members already. Bexley Chamber of Commerce Gutsy by Nutrition Bank Of Queensland, Rockdale Simply Strata Dot DWG To our new members, we’d like to welcome you to the Bayside BEC community. We’re very pleased to have you on board, and we look forward to working with you and helping you reach your business goals. This March on the 8th the world celebrates International Women’s Day. We’re pleased to announce that our social media guru, Zdenka Sciacca, is speaking at the Bayside Migrant Women's Breakfast on the 4th of March in honour of International Women’s Day. We’re also very proud that our longstanding member Recruitment Edge has organised and sponsored an International Women’s Day Breakfast with guest speaker Rosie Batty. (Rosie was awarded the Order of Australia in 2019 for her distinguished service to the community as a campaigner and advocate for the prevention of family violence, and was named Australian of the year in 2015). This is being held on the 20th March at The Ballroom, Australian Turf Club, Royal Randwick Racecourse.
On the topic of women, we are looking at organising women’s networking events. This is not to exclude men, but rather give women a forum where their sense of sisterhood can help other women in business thrive and expand. This is still in the planning stage, but I hope to have some more concrete news by the time the next newsletter comes around. Our first Lunch n’ Learn is next week on the 5th of March at 12 noon! We’re pretty excited to kickoff this new fortnightly event with the 2nd one on the 19th of March, and look forward to welcoming members and non-members to come and network, learn something new and meet other business people in the BEC Bayside offices in Pagewood. If you’re a member and you’d like to be our guest speaker– don’t be shy to give me, Louise, a call on 0422 943 174 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Our first Networking Breakfast is also coming up on the 19th of March with Michael Kava from LittleMarketing. Michael is our guest speaker and he will be presenting on the topic of “How to stand out from your competition”. Our member, South Sydney Graphic Arts Club is very kindly supporting this event by allowing us the use of their boardroom, free of charge. Our last event in February is tomorrow Feb 27th at 10am in Sans Souci Library with Zdenka Sciacca presenting on “How to use Pinterest to generate leads and sales” . It was very popular in December with many attendees requesting a follow up workshop. There are still tickets available.
